TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A fire broke out in a shop near Pasar Enjo, East Jakarta, this morning. In a written statement, the Command Center of the Fire Department said that fire engulfed a second floor shop.
Report about the fire was received at 08:50 Jakarta time. Firefighters immediately headed for the location, dispatching 12 units of fire trucks.
Three people were trapped inside the shop, and firefighters have rescued them.
"We found three victims, they are still alive," the official report of the fire department said on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
Two women, Michele (25) and Venie (46), and a teenage boy named Gilbert (17) were taken out from inside the building. All three had been taken to the Persahabatan Hospital.
As of the publication of this article, firefighters were still trying to put out the fire.
